As most of you know, Puccino's on Magazine is closed. This month we will meet at Mojo's Coffee House this month, 1500 Magazine St (corner of Race and Magazine), Ph: 525-2244, http://mojoneworleans.... They have good snacks and coffee. Do be warned however, that the "bathroom" is in another building in the courtyard and you may want to go before to come to the meetup.

I've been trying to get in contact with Lee but have been unsuccessful in that regard. I'm going to contact "Meetup" and see if we can appoint another organizer, since Lee seems to have lost interest and it seems we cannot contact the group as a whole unless it comes from the organizer. I will keep ya'll updated be leaving messages as that's all I can do for now.

Hope to see you all on Thurs.

Georgia is still anxious that some of you may not get notification of the meeting location in time to attend tomorrow night. So I am e-mailing you individually with the specifics. I apologize in advance for sending out personal e-mails, but I have no other way to contact everyone. I also apologize to those of you who I might not reach with the e-mail, as I doubt I have time to e-mail 78 people individually tonight. I'll send out the e-mails to the most active members and the new members.

To make a long story short for some of the new members, our organizer has not had any contact with the group for over 6 months. She is still paying the fees however, so she is still the organizer. The place where we used to meet has closed and since she has not contacted any of us, she doesn't know that and still keeps sending out the automated message that she originally posted. Only the organizer can send out an e-mail to the entire group at once, so since we did not have access we have just been posting on the message board of our meeting dates and locations. However, the meetup board is slow to send out e-mails indicating message posts and sometimes no one gets notification of a message being posted until the meeting is already over with. In order to try to resolve the situation, I posted a message on the meetup.com help board and requested some information.

I received a couple of responses from the meetup.com moderators and the consensus was that we may just have to start another group. They can do nothing if the current organizer has paid the fees for the meetups, which Lee obviously has. I called her again today and left a message on her cell phone and will further e-mail her personally with this e-mail. Hopefully she will respond. I will also send an e-mail to the moderators asking that they try to contact Lee also. Maybe she will respond to them directly. We shall see.

Those of us attending the meeting tomorrow will be able to discuss what everyone wants to do about possibly starting another meetup. Please make an effort to attend if you want to participate in the decision, or failing that, e-mail me and let me know your thoughts.

In case you have not seen the message board, this month we will meet at Mojo's Coffee House this month, 1500 Magazine St (corner of Race and Magazine), Ph: 525-2244, http://mojoneworleans.... . They have good snacks and coffee. Do be warned however, that the "bathroom" is in another building in the courtyard and you may want to go before to come to the meetup. Here is the link to a map to this location

Thanks,
Angela

Well folks....I tried. The site only let me send out 12 e-mails and then cut me off saying that I can only send 12 messages a day and I'd hit my limit. If you know of anyone that might want to come to the meeting, maybe you can send them an e-mail yourself. I will try again tomorrow. I left off on Dorie in the Members list. I don't know if she got my e-mail or not.

Thanks, Angela. You gave it a good try. Let us just start another meetup group. We can talk about the name tonight. Hopefully everyone will look at the message board before coming to the meeting and know that the location has changed.wink

Also, Angela, I would like for you to visit my home some day. I am right across from Mojo's and I think I have a comfortable place to knit in my parlor. Any and all are welcome and I have VERY good coffee and tea on hand.love struck

I didn't get your email Angela, but I did get a notice that the message board had a new post. I usually come to read the messages whenever I get a notice so I was aware that you all had been meeting at a new place. However I didn't realize that Lee hadn't had any contact for so long. I sure hope nothing drastic has happened in her life! Maybe an illness...

But I am glad you are making an effort to help the situation Angela!... even though I haven't been to a meeting LOL! It just isn't easy for me to get to the meetings (hubby would have to bring me -I am in Algiers). But please don't give up on me - I haven't LOL. I only crochet, but I love knitters and knitting too!

I had even wondered about having a second meeting on the west bank sometime and thought about talking to Lee about it. Maybe it wouldn't even have to be on a regular basis. I don't think there is enough interest to warrant another group for the westbank.

I would really like to see more posting on the message boards. But maybe we can start up some renewed interest. Well, just wanted to let you know I was reading the messages. Thanks to you ladies for trying to do something about the situation!

Well... I always come to read the message boards and now I just found out that a lot of the chit chat takes place in the shout-outs! We don't get notices that anyone is posting in other peoples shout-outs so I always thought there just wasn't anyone talking!

Do we have to go to each persons profile and read the shout-outs so we don't miss something? Maybe I just haven't figured everything out about these boards LOL.

Hi Dorie:

Actually the shouts are not really a good way to discuss anything. Starting a new message topic is the best way..that way everyone has access to it. Also the shout has a character limit of 400 characters and if you type more than that it cuts you off.

If it needs to be private, we can just send e-mails to the individual. Maybe we can start picking a certain topic to talk about at the meetings and then post some of the discussion on the message boards. I also placed a lot of my knitting/yarn/fiber bookmarks in the files section if anyone is interested. As you can see from those bookmarks, I spend a lot more time on the internet than is healthy.
