There is a local stitch and Bitch already going at 120 Union every Saturday from 4 to 6 pm. I work every Saturday so I can't make that one, but would like to get together with other knitters. If anyone is interested I would like to meet another day of the week. Sun, Mon, or Tues are the best for me. Please respond if you are interested.

That is my dilema as well. I work fridays and saturdays and can't do the 4-6:00 p.m., either at Bene's or Union St. Bad time for me. I'm up for sometime during the week, however, I do have a spanish class every tues/thurs evening 6-8:30 p.m. I'm available to meet Mon thru Thurs morning/afternoon.
Keep in touch! Let me know what you gals decide... dawn graham |

Knitting Meetups are the 1st Tuesday and 3rd Wednesday.
As of April 2006, we meet at the UGLY MUG in Soquel Village. Several members of the Meetup also go to the Saturday meetings at CAFE BENE, but these are not official Meetups, just a well-established group of fun knitters! Announcing a new event for Santa Cruz Knitting Meetup Group! What: Stitch 'N Bitch When: EVERY Saturday Event Description: This is the local chapter, started by Gunilla (our Assistant Organizer), of the nation-wide Stitch 'N Bitch craze. This is a fairly well-established time and place, this event has regular attendance (6-12 people), including a core of regular attendees. This event repeats every week and lasts until the cafe closes at 6:00 pm. This event repeats every week. As of 1.14.06, I have only been twice, and not even Gunilla goes every week, but it is a fairly well-established time and place with regular attendance (6-12 people) with both member and non-member regular attendees. *GROUP BASICS* • If you're feeling so inspired, you can also use the 'Add A Comment:' section to describe your enthusiasm for attending! • Please SHOW UP when you RSVP ‘yes.’ Your fellow members would love to see you! • Please buy something (coffee, tea, etc.) to thank the venue for providing the space. This will help them accommodate us in the future. *INTRODUCE YOURSELF* Please take a moment to fill out your profile. Although needles and yarn do tend to be a bit conspicuous, your picture is a big help in identifying you in public. *GET TO KNOW MEMBERS* Feel free to add your $.02 to the Message Board! If you plan on going to a knitting event not listed, contact me so we can let other members know. *GROW OUR MEETUP* Invite friends and print flyers on the 'Promote' page. For more information, check out the FAQ’s on the 'About' page. You can always get in touch with me through the 'Contact Organizer' feature on the Meetup.com website: http://knitting.meetu... I hope to see you soon! Cheers! :) amy Edited by Amy Joy on Apr 23, 2006 1:56 PM |

The 1.14.06 gathering was attended by members: Amy, Desiree, Cheryl G and several (so far!) non-Meetup members: Amie, Gaye, Jordine, Cheryl L., Candice, and a 9th (I didn't catch her name--I'm sorry!). That evening, they all expressed an interest in becoming part of our group.
I also went to the 12.10.06 gathering and Candice (same non-member as above), Gunilla, Desiree and Jon were there, in addition to several other non-members, but the exact number is difficult to gauge at this point (the holidays took a lot out of me). Until next time... biggrin amy |

Once again, great showing... and LOTS of projects completed and in progress! Meetup members Amy - 1st sock, lace Des - Queen of Intarsia, showed off her sweater with a caricature of Hunter S. Thompson; worked on Knitting Olympics project, a fair isle cardigan Gunilla - worked on a little bit of everything - the usual M.O. Very prolific! Non-members Jan - the Einstein coat drama continues: the pattern is a no-brainer, but make sure you have a continuing supply Cheryl G - hat Candice - completed a few hats, including a charming baby hat with three "horns," and worked on a new hat with a delicious chunky yarn by "magnum" Carolyn - cuffing a sweater and the joy of WIAE Joan - a new member holding over from the 2:00-4:00 writer's group, she worked on a scarf with fun novelty yarn Louise - Queen of Fair Isle showed off a few great hat creations and explored the possibilty of making new cuffs on favorite sweater Gaye - scarf of the yarn of your choosing! Judy - from out of town, just came in for a cup of coffee, and got sucked into the excitement! See you next time! ![]() Edited by Amy Joy on Apr 23, 2006 1:57 PM |

I am unable to attend the 2.18.06 meeting, and Gunilla will be at Stitches West in Santa Clara: http://knitting.meetu... ...so, if you--like our gracious host Desiree--are unable to attend Stitches West, Cafe Bene is the place to be! At the 2.25.06 meeting, Gunilla promises to do a little show-and-tell from Stitches West! ![]() amy |

Members: Amy, Gunillla Non-members: Candice Smaller turnout this time; everyone must be pooped out from Stitches West last weekend. I know I can't go back until I've used all the yarn I bought there in 2004! Gunilla had some nice fibers and 2 or 3 projects (as usual), including a baby's sweater, scarf, striped hat... and I can't remember what all! Candice showed off the completed hat made with the thick, green magnum yarn everyone admired two weeks ago. That thing was HEAVY! This time she was working on a hat for a much smaller individual resembling a frosted cupcake. Too cute! Amy is still working on the lace sock. ![]() Until next time! ![]() amy Edited by Amy Joy on Apr 23, 2006 1:59 PM |
