About StitchCraft - The Knitting and Craft Circle

We Keep Each Other in Stitches!!

StitchCraft was created as a means for people who love to knit, crochet, sew, or do any other craft to get together for a few hours every month to chat, spend time together, and share the projects we're working on. If, at the same time, we decide to create items that can be of use or comfort to those around us and those in need, well, that's just cherry on top of the whipped cream on top of the cake!

Join for free! Because StitchCraft is an offshoot of the United Methodist Women of Oak Park First, we don't charge membership fees or dues. In fact, we reimbursed our members this year for the yarn used to create items sold at our bi annual Bazaar, Bake, and Craft Sale.

It's a Mission! We create prayer shawls to give to our sick and shut in members and to family and friends of members of our congregation. We create blankets to give to couples who get married in our church, babies when they are baptized in our church, and to our high school seniors when they go off to college.

We donate items to veteran's groups, hospitals and other organizations who have need for hand crafted items.

Interested in learning to knit and/or crochet?
We have advanced crafters who are willing to teach interested people the craft they love. In fact, we are beginning special weekend sessions for the teens we know who are interested in learning. We welcome newbies of all ages to attend. Watch for our meetups to find out when the next one is scheduled.

We hold most sessions at First United Methodist on a Friday afternoon, but every once in a while, we will meet in the evenings at a members home, or at the church of Stix and a Flix and watch a movie.

Whatever your skill level, we are glad to welcome you.
