Meeting Description

Who

New members of Sit 'n' Knit!

Why

If you are a new member to SnK, you may have noticed that events can be a challenge to get into. What can I say? We're a fun bunch! However newbies have first dibs at this event, so sign up now!

Organized by

"Tables are usually grouped along the side of the seating area. There will also be small tabletop signs."
--Anne-Marie (Commander in Yarn)

BRAND NEW MEMBERS WHO HAVE YET TO ATTEND A SNK EVENT HAVE FIRST DIBS!

Woo hoo!

Welcome to Sit 'n' Knit NYC! Consider this event your orientation to the group. This event will consist of primarily new members. Come meet fellow fiber enthusiasts, work on a project, get help, share a tip or two and unlock the mystery of the speedy RSVP for SnK events. (ha!)

As your commander in yarn, I ask all members to give new members first dibs for this event. A new member is someone who has yet to attend an event - any event. I reserve the right to remove your RSVP if you are not a new member and have attended an event before. This is something new that I am trying in the hopes of giving new members a chance to see what SnK is all about. On the day of the event, any member (new or old) can RSVP to attend if space is available.

(What about old members who can't get into events? I'm working on that, too! smile)

This atrium has a food court so you will be able to get something to drink and snack on. There is a Starbuck's in the Barnes and Noble, and a Duncan Donuts near the subway entrance, as well as the food court inside. We will meet starting at 6pm, get there when you can! The place does close down, so if it's after 8, you might not get much knitting time in. (The space closes at 9pm.)

Please check which Atrium this is. There is a number limit so that we can get to know each other.

"Knitting is often an art done alone. It is so KOOL to be a part of a group of women who could speak my language: no translation or no explanation needed; your questions answered. Secret thoughts and habits about kntting are validated. You are not alone, there are others who GET IT. What a relief!! I went to my first meetuing last night; I am so glad. It is lke a potato chip: I can't go to just one meeing..... "
