It's the annual Knit-Out in Union Square! Come see what it's all about and then join your fellow yarn addicts for some knitting on the lawn.

Knit-Out is a great opportunity to meet more people who knit and crochet! The Knit-Out starts at 12noon and ends at 5pm. There are fashion shows, book signings (Yarn Harlot will be there!!!) charity projects and contests. You can also volunteer as a knitting or crochet instructor. (See CYCA website for details, link provided)

GUESTS ARE ABSOLUTELY WELCOME! In fact, bring a non-knitting friend and help them get started with one of the free lessons offered!

Afterwards, (well, 3pm-ish) grab a snack and head over to the northern end of the Union Square lawn where you can knit with other Sit n' Knitters. There may be other groups meeting as well, so look for our Meetup sign.

IF THE LAWN IS CLOSED - walk south (towards Whole Foods), either check the smaller lawn, or look near the statue or on the steps. A bit vague, I know, but it's pretty hard to predict what activities are going on at that end of the park. But a group of people knitting is pretty easy to find!

BTW - there is a bathroom in both of the Union Square Starbucks and Barnes and Noble.

I ALWAYS have a great time at these events. I love seeing old knitters, that I've met previously, and meeting new ones.
    •  It was fun, but would have been better without the loud band, which was unanticipated by all. Still fun to knit and chat, though!
    •  Even though I did not stay long I have great time. I can't wait for the next event.
    •  It was so great to hang out with my fellow knitting buddies! Despite the uh, free concert, I had a great time catching up with people and meeting new members. Hooray!
    •  Great people, great tips, great stories, great fun
    •  I had a good time. This was the biggest turnout I saw so far.

Union Square was nice-love the park thing, but winter's a comin'! It was great to see everyone again!
    •  Too bad about the mud and loud music, but I had a fantastic time anyway.
    •  I very much enjoyed the company of the women there.
    •  It was really great to sit out in the park and meet people who have the same obsession with knitting that I do. Everbody seemed really sweet, and a great group of people to help me out of my knitting shell!
