Welcome to the Lake County Knit Together
We are a group of knitters and crocheters of all ages and experience levels. We try to meet twice a month, the 1st Tuesday and the 3rd Thursday. We are a very easy going bunch from beginners to quite experienced and adventerous knitters. So there are a lot of opportunities to share and gain skills. Our meeting place is Panera Bread in Gurnee but that is flexible. The group is pretty new and growing so it's open to new ideas and suggestions.
We were formed in November 2004, and have been meeting every month since then. The initial meeting of the group was just 2 knitters, but we've grown since then. We're currently averaging 10ish knitters at every meeting. Here's some photos of us from one of our August 2005 meetings.
Our members are knitters from all over Lake County, including Gurnee, Waukegan, North Chicago, Antioch, Lindenhurst, Zion, Wadsworth, Buffalo Grove, Vernon Hills, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Round Lake, Grayslake, Lake Zurich, Lake Villa, Mundelein, Libertyville, Beach Park and Volo.
There is a suggested but not mandatory contribution of a dollar a month. This is to cover the $9 monthly fee of this Meetup site. It's collected at the meetings.
Hope you come out and join us.
