Introduction:

"Hi. I'm Colleen, and I live in Gurnee. I decided recently that I need a new hobby. I currently am pursuing a Nursing degree (after a LONG break!), and need a creative outlet for when I'm not studying. I'm just starting to learn how to knit."

"A Google search for knitting groups lake county illinois"

What skills or knitting techniques do you want to learn?

"Just about everything as I'm only just learning! I'm hoping this group will be open to new knitters and will be a source of information and inspiration for me."

What is your favorite thing you've knit?

"Does the "Baby's First Swatch" from Stitch 'N Bitch count? That's all I've done unless you count the 30 or so rows of a chunky scarf I started about 2 years ago when trying to teach myself. I just signed up for knitting lessons starting 9/11/07!"

How long have you been knitting and/or crocheting?

"I used to crochet when I was a kid. Grandma was a HUGE crocheter, and tried to teach me a thing or two. I actually won a blue ribbon at our school's talent show for a Barbie dress I crocheted when I was 9. Can't remember a single stitch now!"
