Please consider taking some time for knit a hat for charity. Don't forget a hat will earn you a 10% discount on your next purchase at Prairie Arts and Fibers.
Denise is collecting hat for PADS (Public Assistance to Deliver Shelter) in all sizes.
Linda, our host a Prairie Arts and Fibers is collecting hats for Newborns in Need.

Here is a size chart link.

If you have any questions please feel free to email Denise or myself here or at Ravelry.

Thanks in advance,
Vanessa

Here is more info taken from the Prairie Arts and Fibers site:
Newborns in Need:
There is a new chapter of Newborns in Need for northern Lake County, which just happens to be us. Knitters meet at PAF on the SECOND MONDAY of the month to knit blankets, tiny hats, and other soft things for premies and other newborns in crisis.
We have patterns.
We are also a drop-off point for yarns (acrylics) and finished goods for distribution to area hospitals.

Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS) Hat Project sponsored by Lake County K2Tog:
PADS provides overnight shelter to the homeless at various churches throughout Lake County. The demand for shelter has increased sharply over the last two winters. The Lake County K2Tog group is collecting hand knit hats between now and Dec 18th to provide to the PADS site opening Dec 23rd at Community Christian Church in Waukegan. This is a new site and with the proximity to Christmas we are hoping to provide as many clients as possible with a warm hat to welcome them. Any knitters contributing a hat will recieve an 10% discount on their next purchase.

For the PADS Hat Project, do you mean any size like up through adult? Also, does it have to be knitted with knitting needles or can I use a knifty knitters loom?

Any size, child through adult, male and female.
I'm sure any hat would be appreciated, knitted, crocheted or loomed.

to Charity Knitters or anyone who is FREE of the christmas frenzy:

will there be any meetups this month at PFA to come together and knit on a charity project,
figure out a pattern, make this donation, in the company of other women?

I like knitting but not by myself all the time; it's really hard to finish something when I'm alone and run into a snag.

thanks,
Ellen

I would love to get together this week to work on this knitting project. Is Linda willing to let us use her shop to do this?

Willing and able, you can call ahead and set up a time for your group and she will be happy to accomodate. There is a regular group that meets tuesday afternoon and Weds nite is open knitting.
