It's here! A venue that has a full bar, coffee, small eats (Julie the owner buys pastries every few days and will take requests! Fruit, cream, chocolate - and she's willing to do a special for us as well), couches and decent lighting.

The meetup will start at 5:45 pm - easy for those already downtown. It's almost literally within spitting distance of the Chicago stop on the Brown Line, just a little west of Chicago and Wells. You can take the Brown Line and the 65 Chicago bus to get there.

Depending on how this venue works out, we'll do this venue every first Wednesday of the month.

We will be collecting the $1 meetup fee.

Email me with any questions or pastry requests, and check the forum on Ravelry for more updates.

Oh, a knitting class is one of the better excuses for missing a knitting meetup, I suppose. If this one is successful, though, I hope to see you at the next one!

I was so excited about this, but I forgot, I have a knitting class starting tomorrow. I hope to make future sessions.

    •  Was nice to meet other knitters, chat, drink, and enjoy some apple 'crumble'. Love the venue - very conveniently located.
    •  The lounge area is comfortable and well-lit with a big coffee table, the bar has beer and wine, there's coffee and quiche and pizza and pastry - this worked out really well. We even got a 25% discount on apple cobbler... very tasty, although since they only have one oven, it was a bit of a wait to get everything heated up.
    •  Very nice place, convenient location. The graphic software is here: http://www.artopi... The Millinium Park KIP Day info is in here (even Zombie stuff!): http://www.ravelr...
    •  It was nice to have a meetup in a quieter place where we could sit facing each other, rather than a long table where you can't see the people on the other end.
    •  food was tasty but a little cold but you still appreciate the fact they are trying to please so I would still go back again for a meetup. It was nice and quiet so you could talk to each other while knitting with soft music in the background.
