Hi all! It's time for our June Field Trip! We had such a great response from our previous Field Trip to Nina, that we are continuing these events. Where: Loopy Yarn! I've met Vicki, the owner, one day at a metra stop when I was admiring her knitting. She is very sweet and open to knitters of all levels. Please RSVP ASAP, as we need a minimum of 8 people to run the event. TELL YOUR FRIENDS! Sorry--no maybes. Hi all- So, we had one mtg in May, due to inclement weather. But I'm excited to meet back at our local again! I look forward to seeing new faces and welcoming back familiar ones. I've got all the extra yarn from the yarn swap and will bring it with me! We've got lots of great things coming up:
* Field Trip to Loopy Yarns
* Pot-Luck Pic-nit (hopefully it will be warmer!)
* Participating in Networking with Anni Holm

Hi all- Is it May already? You Bet! Your homework for the the 1st May meetup: gather all your excess, unwanted yarn, and bring it to our first YARN SWAP! (OK Dee Dee--maybe not ALL of your exceess--just some!) What you consider unwanted may be a treasure to another. This is a great way to refresh your stock without buy new. Hi all-- I was thrilled to see the turn out at the last meeting--13 people!! That's more than RSVP'd--well done!! A scarf and sox were finished --a hat was pulled apart and started anew. (Isn't there something oddly satisfying about pulling apart something you spent hours putting together?!) Pictures soon to be posted! So great to see so many new faces--and to Roland, the first guy to join our group, I'm glad to hear we didn't scare you away! I have very exciting news for our 2nd April meetup: our first field trip: Nina: a well-knit shop!! For those of you who have not yet visited this delightful oasis, you are in for a treat! From 7:00-9:00pm, Nina has kindly agreed to open her shop to us for a private night of knitting, snacks & an expert knitter on hand to share tips or help you out! So all of you who have questions about different yarn, stitches, patterns, gauging, ect, RSVP RIGHT NOW! (Yes or No's only please.) And you will be able to browse the wonderful yarn select and make purchases as well, WITH A 15% DISCOUNT--THANK YOU NINA! Nina's is the first of many! To let you in on my vision for this group--as it is ever evolving, I would like to highlight a different shop each month by taking a field trip there. So keep and eye out for future events. Hi all-- Well--despite the last minute change, those who attended the meet-up had fun -- and I may have recruited a new member--our waitress! She had heard about it and liked what she heard. Cheers to Nikki for being the new face at the meeting--we hope to see more of you. Sara will be posting knit-tastic photos soon-so keep an eye out! As we are growing and many of you cannot make the meetings, I encourage you to stay in touch by the message board. Share photos of finished projects, ask questions, or post crazy things from the web--check out the knitted wig I found and posted (yes, i said wig-what will they think of next?!) Going forward, we will meet: 2nd Tuesday and 4th Wednesday, in an effort to accomodate more members. (Now all of you who couln't come on Tuesdays have to think of another excuse!) We will Keep Tuesdays at Cafe De Luca and Wednesdays a great way to explore other restaurants and cafes. Suggestions welcome.
And as always, thank you for replying only YES or NO to the RSVP, it helps for planning the event.

Hi all-- SO SORRY FOR THE SHORT NOTICE BUT WE NEED TO CHANGE LOCATIONS! I CALLED CAFFE DE LUCA TO CONFRIM & THEY ARE CLOSED FOR CLEANING! WE WILL MEET AT NORTHSIDE CAFE: 1635 n. DAMEN--SAME TIME. SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE! It's time to mark your calendars, set your DVR, and run to the yarn shop, because our 2nd March meet-up is already planned! Every week I am so pleased to see a new face or two, so don't be shy! We now have Chicago Knitters tradition for virgin knitters: Welcome to the pink ball of yarn! Barbara learned how to knit at our last meeting using a pink ball of yarn, and she brought it back this week, spilt in half, and shared it with Caroline, now no longer a virgin! So we will continue to bring the pink ball to each meeting, for those new to knitting! As the weather gets nicer, I would love to do an outside event, perhaps a Sunday picnic down by the lake. Hi all-- Caffe de Luca is a success! For those of you who haven't made it to an event yet, you are missing out!!! Congratulations to US--we now have 102 members! That many women with needles--Chicago watch out! Now, I know a lot of you want to spend an evening chatting and knitting---because you tell me -- so what are you waiting for?? Beginners are very welcome! Congratulations to Barbara for knitting for the very first time--good luck with your scarf! And if we are lucky, maybe she will teach us some Italian & Elizabeth can teach us some French while we knit. Yvette, we wish you luck with your socks. And I am proud that I have started my first hat--finally something other than scarves : ) Experienced knitters must come and share their knowlege--and a glass of vino or cappacino! Hi all-- Thanks to those who were able to make it this past Tuesday. Though we were smaller than I had expected (did some of you go to Lettizia's by accident?!), it was a fun night--and some of us even partook in the 1/2 price bottle of wine (that's EVERY Tuesday!). The new location was great and we have a space all to ourselves. And they even let you order off of the kids menu!

Hi all-- Hope you are keeping warm on these winter days! Please note the date change: Next meeting will be 7th--not the 14th. As much as I love knitting, I also love chocolate and hope to get some on Valentine's Day! It was automatically set up for the 2nd Tuesday, so I hope you can make the 7th.
