Whether you are beginning or advanced in knitting, this group is for those with a love for knitting and its calming influence. This is an opportunity to use a local, neighborhood cafe, drink tea, coffee, indulge in some treats and knit away. We will expect members to help and advise each other, to socialize and create a caring, learning and teaching environment.

This is a group for anyone who loves to knit or wants to learn to knit. We will work on small projects for donations, particularly hats, scarves and mittens to be donated during the "Midnight Run" over the winter. Beginners welcome, help will be available. Bring your yarn scraps or whatever leftovers you have. I can probably reserve a space in a local White Plains School for an evening once a week. I've been inspired by "Knitting for Peace" by Betty Christiansen, subtitled "Make the Word a Better Place, One Stitch at a Time." Some possible projects: Chemo Caps, Prayer Shawls, Security Blankets. So, we're knitting (or crocheting, quilting) to give back. Projects will be forwarded to appropriate organizations that will distribute.
